I'm working on a new project, a prelude to my Foundations of Change Course. I'm building the course as I go along, as this is more of a project led by my dreams and mixing in basic neuroscience, Interfaith Prayer, and Meditation to create new ways to connect our spiritual, mindfulness, and meditation practices to meaningful change. People can participate with as little or as much as they want as there is something for everyone.
Day 1: Grounding in Nature and Sensory Awareness
Neuroscience: Sensory awareness activates the brain’s default mode network, helping you become more mindful and present.
Activity: Spend 20-30 minutes in nature. Focus on engaging all five senses: feel the earth beneath your feet, listen to the sounds around you, and notice the smells of the environment. This calms the amygdala, reducing stress and helping you ground yourself.
Reflection: After your walk, journal about how tuning into your senses affects your emotional state and clarity of mind.
